The Harmony Club to cut ribbon Sept. 28, hold grand opening Sept. 30
By Anna Skinner
Although the Harmony Club has been open since earlier this summer, the ribbon cutting is scheduled for 4 to 5 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Harmony Club, 1414 W. 151st St., and the grand opening is scheduled to follow on Oct. 1
The club, equipped with a gym, three pools, a banquet room, multiple social rooms and more, is available for the Harmony neighborhood residents, who pay for the amenities with the Homeowners Association dues. The banquet room is open to the public to be used for wedding receptions, class reunions, business meetings and more.
The club is managed by the Brian and Karen Saylor. Brian has been in the fitness industry for 25 years.
“Personally, I believe what sets Harmony Club apart from other residential clubhouses is the fact that it offers a full gym with a management team in place to encourage, educate and support those in the community that need help getting started and stay on track,” Brian said. “To me, this is unheard of. If that exists anywhere else, I’m simply not aware of it. This isn’t your typical small apartment style fitness facility with a couple cardio machines and a universal weight machine.”
During the grand opening, 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 1 at the club, a onetime use of the banquet room will be raffled off.
In addition to the fitness aspect, the club offers its members various recreational and social programming such as hog roasts, wine and canvas, swing dancing, food truck socials, movie night, Christmas tree decorating classes and more.
“With over 25 years of experience in the fitness industry, it’s extremely rewarding to be in a position to help others in a group setting where folks do not have to go through the process of seeking out a trainer for advice,” Brian said. “It’s a service I’m happy to see Harmony residents taking advantage of.”
